Maze Game
In this maze game, I worked on a team with two others as our Level Designer. I mapped out the layout of the maze on paper first, with the map broken into three sections excluding the exit area to win the game. My work was meticulous to ensure that each part of the maze felt different and unfamiliar, but I certainly achieved this goal. Arranging the walls in a way that they fit the design while looking aesthetically pleasing required me to pay close attention to detail. Then I placed the core gameplay assets in a strategical spot around the map to cater to the gameplay. This is especially important since the game is time based and the light that surrounds the player gets dimmer until it completely goes out which is the equivalent of dying and needing to start over. The only way to restore the player's light is to run to the goblets of fire (as seen on the right side of the image above) which will reset the brightness. Lastly, I play tested to ensure a fun balance of a challenge and reasonableness in successfully completing the game.
